The sendmail configuration notes and configuration templates found on this page are a work in progress. They have been used to configure sendmail for specific applications. They are here to serve as a guide, and they are not a substitute for an understanding of sendmail. Sendmail DNSBL Configuration:This as a template to allow sendmail to use DNSBL. This specific example uses a few DNSBL services. Use of a DNSBL can cause mail delivery problems, if the service is later shutdown. Sendmail Bad Recipient Throttle Configuration:This option will throttle smtp connections once a threshold is reached for bad recipients. Sendmail Greet Pause Configuration:This option will cause sendmail to pause briefly prior to responding with a 220 greeting message. Sendmail Connection Rate Throttle Configuration:This causes sendmail connections to wait their turn when the number of incoming simultaneous sendmail connects exceed the connection rate throttle threshold. Sendmail Greeting:This option will cause sendmail to answer as a specific hose. Sendmail TLS:Sendmail TLS configuration and commands needed to generate certificates. Sendmail Auth settings:These are configuration settings for a server running sendmail with SASL & Auth. Sendmail use local account for SASL:This is the configuration needed to have sendmail use a local account for AUTH. Alter Sendmail sendmail Login Message:Use this code to change the sendmail login message. |
